Cuba dominates judo at the Central American & Caribbean Games
Cuban judoka took multiple golds on the finals days of the XXV Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe in Santo Domingo. Jonathan Charon (−60 kg), Orlando Polanco (−66 kg) and Dali Sentmanat (−52 kg) all won gold, while host Dominican Republic claimed its first judo gold of the Games through Ana Rosa (−57 kg). The results drew strong coverage across regional newspapers and Olympic channels, making this the clearest mainstream martial-arts story of the week. Crowds packed the judo hall at the Centro Olímpico Juan Pablo Duarte as Cuba underlined its traditional strength on the tatami and the home nation celebrated a long-awaited breakthrough.
